Hang Gliders Cleared For Launch

Crews were able to gain full containment of the Dead Dog Fire yesterday, which means the Dinosaur Open hang gliding competition will take place as scheduled. In a release, the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s office confirmed that the air space restrictions around the fire had been lifted, so the event will be able to take place as originally planned. Launches will occur this Sunday through Saturday the 24th, with landing zones in Rangely, Meeker, Maybell, Hayden and Craig. Tune in to 93.7 102.3 KRAI or 55 Country everyday between eleven and noon to find out where the hang gliders will land that day.
