Georgie Hand Guilty On All Counts

Hand, Georgie 01131972 (1)The Jury in the Georgie Hand trial took only an hour and and half to find the woman guilty on all  8 felony counts against her including 2 counts of aggravated robbery, 2 counts of second-degree kidnapping, 2 counts of menacing and 2 counts of disarming a peace officer.  On the 9th count of 2nd degree criminal trespass the jury felt a lesser charge was appropriate and found Hand guilty of only 3rd degree criminal trespassing.  Hand was involved in a shooting in March of 2015 involving Colorado Parks and Wildlife officer Nathan Martinez and Moffat County Sheriff’s Deputy Bhrent Shock. Those officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle off of US Highway 40, east of Dinosaur, when they encountered Hand and her husband, James Brent Damon, who briefly took them hostage.  A struggle ensued during which Damon, was fatally shot. Sentencing for Hand is scheduled to held on June 13th when she will face a minimum prison sentence of 52 years to a maximum sentence of 160 years.   Pictured Georgie Hand
