Governor Signs Stricter Medical Marijuana Requirements into Law

MARIJUANA-300Colorado’s governor signed into law a new crackdown on medical marijuana. Governor John Hickenlooper signed a bill yesterday that directs state health authorities to set new guidelines for doctors who recommend pot for “severe pain.” That’s the most common condition on Colorado’s medical marijuana registry. The new law will also direct marijuana caregivers to inform patients that the pot they’re using may not be tested for potency or contaminants. The measure updates marijuana regulations that were written before Colorado made weed legal for adults in 2012.
