Governor Signs Bills While Touring Southeast Colorado

JOHN-HICKENLOOPER-300Governor John Hickenlooper traveled through southern Colorado yesterday to sign several bills, including one to provide social workers to juvenile offenders and another to allocate funding for the state fair.  The governor was in Colorado Springs yesterday morning to sign legislation that requires the public defender’s office to hire social workers to assist in juvenile cases.  Hickenlooper also signed a bill that creates the Wildfire Information and Resource Center, which will provide details on prescribed burns and fire mitigation funding among other things.  In Pueblo, Hickenlooper signed a bill that adds $300,000 for renovations and improvements at the Colorado State Fairgrounds. He also signed legislation to put a new Colorado Bureau of Investigation forensics lab in Pueblo.  Pictured: John Hickenlooper
