GOP Wraps up Scouting Trip to Denver

REPUBLICANRepublican Party officials have wrapped up their visit to Denver as they continue to scout out possible locations for their 2016 convention.  They headed to Dallas yesterday after a final round of business in Denver.  After a tour of the Pepsi Center on Tuesday, convention committee members say legal marijuana in Denver won’t hinder the city’s chances. Denver is also holding its own in fundraising, with nearly $11 million in pledges so far. Host cities have to raise around $60 million.  Denver is competing against Dallas, Cleveland and Kansas City, Missouri.  The committee will announce where it’s holding the convention in August.
