A meeting will take place Thursday in Craig to discuss the closing of Craig Station Unit 1. An announcement was made last week that Tri-State and the other owners of the Craig Station reached an agreement with the EPA and other entities to close Unit 1 by the end of 2025. The agreement will also institute more stringent emission requirements on the Craig Station beginning in 2020. Units 2 and 3 at the Craig Station will not be affected by the agreement. Tri State believes it’s important to discuss the agreement with the communities affected. The meeting will allow Tri-State CEO Mike McInnes and a representative from the state to speak about the agreement and answer questions from the public. The meeting will be held Thursday, beginning at 6, at Moffat County High School.
