Free Tax Filing Help Available

Income tax filing assistance will be available for those who qualify this week in Craig. The Moffat County United Way and the Department of Social Services will hold Volunteer Income Tax Assistance this Thursday and Friday in the Bell Tower building at CNCC. Trained volunteers will be available to provide free confidential assistance with Federal and Colorado income tax filings, for individuals who make less than $54,000 a year. Transportation to and from the Bell Tower is available through the Northwest Colorado Center for Independence for the elderly or disabled individuals. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sessions will take place Thursday evening from 4 to 7 and Friday from 8 to noon. Documents Needed:
Proof of identification, social security cards for yourself, spouse, and dependents, birth dates for yourself, spouse, and dependents on the tax return, wage and earning statements (W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, 1099-MISC) from all employers, interest and dividend statements from banks, health insurance statements, a copy of last year’s federal and state returns if available, bank account routing and account numbers for direct deposit, and the total paid for daycare provider with provider’s Employer Identification Number.
