It may soon be illegal for minors to be enrolled in gay conversion therapy in Colorado. A bill that would ban gay conversion therapy in the state passed a Democratic-controlled House committee earlier this week. However, most expect the bill to be defeated in the Republican controlled Colorado Senate. Proponents of the bill say that forcing a child to go through gay conversion therapy is tantamount to child abuse, while proponents of the therapy believe it to be an effective method to alter a person’s sexual preference. The bill must now be passed in the full House of Representatives, before it is sent to the Senate for consideration.
