Gardner To Stop Blocking DOJ Nominations

Senator Cory Gardner says he will stop blocking nominees for some Justice Department jobs, which he was holding up due to recent changes in federal marijuana policies announced last month by Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Gardner says he’s spoken with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and believes the department is making progress on their marijuana policy. Gardner started blocking DOJ nominees after Attorney General Jeff Sessoins announced that he was overturning some Obama-era protections for state’s with legalized pot. Gardner says in a sign of good faith, he’ll release the holds on a “limited number” of nominees, including a dozen US attorneys, US Marshals and on nominee John Demers, who’s been nominated for the national security division.
