Gardner Skeptical Of North Korea’s Intent To Denuclearize

Following the recent news that North Korea may be willing to discus disarming their nuclear arsenal, Senator Cory Gardner released a statement encouraging skepticism.  Gardner, who chairs the Subcommittee on East Asia, the Pacific, and International Cybersecurity, says that while this statement of intent from North Korea is a positive development, the US has been down this  road before, and needs to avoid repeating past mistakes which led to the current crisis. Gardner believes the goal of any discussions with North Korea should remain the complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and he urged the Trump Administration to continue the maximum pressure campaign against the regime, until denuclearization is the reality.
