Gardner And Bennet Sound Off On Taxes

The US Senate passed their tax overhaul bill Tuesday along party lines. Due to procedural issues, The House of Representatives will vote on the bill again Wednesday morning.  It is expected to hit President Trump’s desk for a signature Wednesday before noon. After the bill was passed by the Senate. Democrat Senator Michael Bennet who voted against the bill said tax reform should have addressed the real challenges in our economy by helping middle-class families in Colorado afford housing, health care, child care, and higher education, while saving enough for a secure retirement. Bennet believes this legislation is another example of how Republican priorities diverge from those of the American people.  On the other hand Republican Senator Cory Gardner said in a statement that after 31 years, Congress has finally answered the call to cut taxes and reform the tax code, saying he is proud to help deliver relief to all of Colorado
