Free Tax Filing Assistance Available In Craig

Income tax filing assistance will be available this week in Craig for those who qualify. The Moffat County United Way will hold Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, Thursday and Friday in the Bell Tower building at CNCC. Trained volunteers will be available to provide free confidential assistance with Federal and Colorado income tax filings, for individuals who make less than $54,000 a year. A complete list of documents needed to file taxes along with additional information on the clinic is available below. Transportation to and from the Bell Tower is available through the Northwest Colorado Center for Independence for the elderly or disabled individuals. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sessions will take place this Thursday evening from 4 to 7 and Friday morning from 8 to noon. Taxpayers interested in utilizing this service can call 326-6222 to make an appointment.

Documents Needed:
Proof of identification, social security cards for yourself, spouse, and dependents, birth dates for yourself, spouse, and dependents on the tax return, wage and earning statements (W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, 1099-MISC) from all employers, interest and dividend statements from banks, health insurance statements, a copy of last year’s federal and state returns if available, bank account routing and account numbers for direct deposit, and the total paid for daycare provider with provider’s Employer Identification Number.
