Anglers in Northwest Colorado can fish for free this weekend at all the state’s parks. Colorado Parks and Wildlife designates the first weekend in June every year as Free Fishing Weekend. This is the only weekend of the year that anglers 16 and older do not need a license to fish the states water ways. This weekend is a great opportunity for avid fisherman to take friend and family out to a lake or river, to get them involved in the activity. While fishing licenses are not required this weekend, all other fishing regulations remain in effect. Anglers should consult the Colorado Fishing Brochure for specific regulations and restrictions for the waters they’ll be fishing. Additional information on fishing in Colorado is available here.
