Sexual Harassment Complaint Filed Against Baumgardner

A formal sexual harassment complaint, for inappropriate touching, has been filed against Republican state Senator Randy Baumgardner by a former legislative intern. According to the radio station KUNC, the woman alleges that Baumgardner slapped and grabbed her rear-end about four times over a three month period, while she was working at the State Capitol in 2016. The woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, says each incident happened inside the State Capitol during regular work hours. The alleged incidents are separate from accusations that were leveled against Baumgardner by another former legislative intern Megan Creeden, who accused Baumgardner of frequently asking her to drink alone with him in his office and making inappropriate comments, including one that indicated he was disappointed that she would not come home with him following a meeting. Baumgardner previously denied any wrong doing with regard to Creeden’s accusations. In an email statement to KUNC regarding the most recent accusations, Baumgardner said that because the reporting process is confidential, he was unable to comment on specifics of the new reports. Baumgardner says that he trusts that the investigative process will allow the facts to be thoroughly investigated and all sides to be heard.
