Recent rainfall and continuing snow melt may cause the Elk River to reach minor flood stage Wednesday evening through early Thursday morning and again by Friday morning. Snow pack above the Elk River remains high and with high temperatures expected…flooding concerns will be increased for the next several days.
At 12:30 pm Tuesday the stage was 6.9 feet, flood state is at 7.5 feet. Flood stage may be reached by early Thursday morning when lower portions of RCR 42 near the Elk River Bridge will start to flood.
