A lightning started fire that began earlier this month is burning in the Flat Top Wilderness area near Buford, about 25 miles east of Meeker. The Lost Solar fire is burning through an area with high fuel density on rocky terrain. Because of the location crews have focused on limiting the fires growth as opposed to suppressing the blaze. They are also working to protect structures in the South Fork drainage area. The Lost Solar Fire is estimated a 127 acres. Visitors and hunters should be aware of changing conditions, for current fire information contact the Blanco Ranger District at 878-4039.
