There are opportunities in Moffat, Routt and Rio Blanco Counties to see fireworks Friday night. In Craig the fireworks start a little before 9. They will be set off at the high school. The VFW will hold a parade (at 11am) and barbecue (at noon) Friday. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served, and the VFW asks that those that
show up bring a dessert. The barbecue is a fundraiser for Saint Michaels Community Kitchen. Meeker has the Range Call Celebration going on, with fireworks set to begin at 9 Friday night. The show will take place at the cemetery, but can be viewed from anywhere in town. Steamboat’s fireworks will take place at 9 Friday night at Howelson Hill. Fire managers have said that no fire restrictions are in place for Routt, Moffat or Rio Blanco Counties this weekend, but that the fire danger remains high. Police remind people that most fireworks are prohibited in Colorado. If it leaves the ground or gives a report it is illegal.
