Firefighters Battling Lightning Sparked Fire in Rio Blanco County

fire-fighter-1-300Firefighters in Rio Blanco County are working on an 11 acre blaze that is believed to have been started by lighting yesterday.  Lightning is being blamed for several small fires in the county, the biggest of which is the “Big Jimmy Fire”.  Helicopters dropped water on the blaze yesterday, but fire managers have decided that support is not necessary today.  The fire danger for Moffat and Rio Blanco Counties remains high, while the danger in Routt, Jackson and Grand Counties is Moderate.
