Fire Danger High in Northwest Colorado

fire-danger-high-signThe fire danger is high across much of Colorado partly because of a dry air mass in place across much of the Southwest. The dry weather combined with warm weather and expected strong winds led to the posting of red flag warnings south of the Palmer Divide and across southern and northwestern Colorado yesterday. Northwest Colorado is still under the red flag warning today. State fire officials gathered at a conference yesterday to prepare for a fire season they’re considering to be significantly worse than in 2014.
