An inmate who escaped from the Garfield County Jail was located Tuesday morning by Sheriff’s Deputies. 19-year-old Armando Mayo escaped from the jail Monday night through a release error, after he allegedly impersonated another inmate who was scheduled to be released. Mayo was being held on a failure to comply charge for not paying a warrant out of Grand Junction. Mayo was located just before 5 Tuesday morning.
