Energy Group Launches Campaign against Sage Grouse Listing

WESTERN ENERGY ALLIANCEWestern Energy Alliance has launched an ad campaign to educate westerners on how a listing of the Greater Sage-Grouse under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) would discourage effective local and state conservation efforts while stifling economic growth and job creation. The three-part video series contrasts collaborative, state-led conservation with misguided environmental activism and a one-size-fits-all federal approach.  The Alliance’s campaign consists of online and radio ads running from August through October across the West including Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Utah and Wyoming.  Because of a settlement agreement with environmental groups, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has until September 2015 to determine whether it will list the sage grouse. The species may be listed despite extensive state, local and industry efforts to conserve the species across its 11-state range.  You can view the series of ads by clicking here.
