Strong river flows will continue for western Colorado as snow melt increases. Warm temperatures will continue for the rest of the week increasing snow melt across the region. The snow melt, along with recent rain and snowfall, has increased flows for many rivers and streams. The trend will continue for the remainder of the week with some rivers reaching bank full.
Rivers of concern include:
– Elk River near Routt County Road 42 that has already reached action stage and is forecast to reach minor flood stage Wednesday evening into Thursday morning. A flood watch has been issued.
– The Green River near Jensen, Utah is forecast to rise near action stage by the weekend.
– the Yampa River near Craig and Deerlodge Park will rise and come close to reaching action stage for the weekend.
