The Colorado State Patrol will be partnering with local Law Enforcement to conduct DUI saturation patrols in Moffat, Routt, and Grand Counties for this Super Bowl weekend. The goal of the increased enforcement is to remove as many intoxicated drivers from the roads as possible. Last year, officers in State Patrol Troop 4B, which encompasses Rio Blanco, Moffat, Routt, Grand, and Jackson Counties investigated 126 crashes involving injury, 11 of which involved drivers impaired by drugs or alcohol. 17 fatal crashes occurred last year in these areas, with a total of 604 people losing their lives last year throughout the state. To avoid being pulled over, drivers should stay sober, avoid distractions and always wear their seat belt.
