Diesel Truck Drivers May Soon Face Fines

Governor John Hickenlooper is ready to sign a bill that would penalize diesel truck drivers who inundate other cars or pedestrians with exhaust from their vehicles. If Hickenlooper signs the bill, anyone with modifications to their diesel truck who is caught pumping out massive plumes of black smoke could face up to a $100 fine. Hickenlooper says fining drivers who make the illegal modifications to their diesel vehicles is appropriate, since they’re ignoring the concerns of people with asthma and other respiratory issues.
