More details have emerged in the arrest of a 13-year old Gypsum boy for murder. Deputies have identified the victim as Joseph Kelly, Jr. Kelly was found inside his home, dead from two gunshot wounds to the head. By the time he was found by deputies, he had been dead for about 6 days. Deputies were alerted when Kelly’s employer called them and told them Kelly’s son had called the man in sick for several days in a row. Kelly also missed an appointment with deputies to discuss a vandalism incident his son was involved in. The 13-year old son, Kai is the primary suspect in the case, and has been booked on 1st degree murder, criminal mischief, and other charges.
