Members of the Routt County Search and Rescue Team were called to assist a cross-country skier Wednesday afternoon on Rabbit Ears Pass. The 54-year-old Texas man called 911 after he fell in the area. The man said he was tired, wet and could not get his skis back on. The man did not prepare for the conditions and was wearing jeans and a cotton shirt, which were both soaked by the time rescuers arrived. Rescuers used snowmobiles to reach the man, near the top of West Summit Loop B. They were able to remove him without incident by 4, Wednesday afternoon.
