Craig Police Respond to Shooting Victim at Hospital

CRAIG-POLICE-BADGE-300Craig Police officers responded to The Memorial Hospital Friday morning, after a woman walked into the facility with a gunshot wound she sustained the night before. Police say the woman was accidentally shot in the chest when she and her husband fought over a 22-caliber pistol, and it discharged. The woman decided she wasn’t hurt bad enough to call for help, and went to bed. When she woke the next morning, she changed her mind and took herself to The Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police were notified, and the woman’s husband, 31 year old Christopher Lovelace was arrested and booked in the Moffat County Jail on charges of Second Degree Assault and Prohibited Use of Weapons. The Assault charge comes with a Domestic Violence tag.
