The Moffat County Sheriff’s Department believe they have solved a series of burglaries. Late last week a Sheriff’s Deputy spotted a 4-wheeler that matched the description of one that had reportedly been stolen while responding to an unrelated call. After running the vehicle identification number and determining that it was indeed the stolen 4-wheeler, a warrant was obtained to search the rest of the property in the Jensen Subdivision on the North Side of Craig. During the search, items from numerous open burglary cases were discovered. Items were recovered from 3 cases in Moffat County, 3 in the City of Craig, and one from Mesa County. The suspect, 37-year-old Jason Tracy of Craig, was arrested and booked into the Moffat County Jail where he is being held on a parole violation. According to Lieutenant Jeremy Ashton of the Moffat County Sheriff Department, charges related to the burglaries are still pending but are expected to be filed later this week. Pictured: Jason Tracy.
