A Craig man was sentenced to 9 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections last week, for possession of methamphetamines. A Routt County Court representative confirmed Monday morning that 47-year-old Duane E Newton pleaded guilty to felony possession of a controlled substance Thursday. In addition to the jail time, Newton was ordered to pay a fine of over $3,500. As part of the plea agreement, another felony drug possession charge and other misdemeanors related to the incident were dropped. Newton was arrested by the All Crimes Enforcement Team in February after he was found with more than 28 grams of meth in his possession. Pictured Duane E.
