The Craig Chamber of Commerce has earned accreditation through the United States Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber earned its accredited status for its sound policies, effective organizational procedures, and positive impact on the community. Accreditation is the only national program that recognizes chambers for their effective organizational procedures and community involvement. In order to receive Accreditation, a chamber must meet minimum standards in their operations and programs, including areas of governance, finance, government affairs, and technology. The extensive self-review and application process takes months to complete. Chamber Director Chris Oxley said earning accreditation was a painstaking process that required a commitment from both the Chamber staff and the board of directors. There are 7,077 chambers in the United States, 207 of which are accredited. Accredited Chambers represent the top 3% of all chambers in the United States.
