Those who use medical marijuana in Craig will still be able to get marijuana in the City. The City Council approved a lease extension for the Craig Apothecary at their meeting last night. Members of the group Grow Craig were also at the meeting to ask the Council to reconsider putting a question dealing with recreational marijuana on the Ballot for the April election. The council decided 4 to 3 to direct the city attorney to construct a question for their consideration. Those who voted no, said the community had already voiced their objection to recreational marijuana by not signing the petition that was circulated by Grow Craig before the last election. Those who voted in favor, including Mayor Ray Beck, tentatively agreed that the community deserves an opportunity to decide the issue through a vote. However, with Beck’s departure from the Council, the vote may be split 3-3 on whether or not to allow a recreational marijuana question on the ballot.
