Construction Accident Victim Identified

The man who died in a construction accident last week in Steamboat has been identified by the Routt County Coroner.  According to Deputy Coroner Mitch Locke, the victim, 48-year-old Eric Becker, of Steamboat, was struck by a piece of steel while working at a construction site on Steamboat Boulevard. One of Becker’s co-workers unsuccessfully attempted to revive him on the scene, he was later pronounced dead at the Yampa Valley Medical Center. The official cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy.
