Comment On NW Colorado Oil & Gas Lease Sale

The BLM is evaluating 64 parcels of land totaling nearly 60 thousand acres, for an oil and gas leas sale in Northwest Colorado, as part of the Trump administrations goal to strengthen America’s energy independence.  In Fiscal Year 2016, oil and gas activity on BLM Colorado-managed lands contributed $2.9 billion in economic output and generated 13,620 jobs. The BLM is asking the public to comment on the proposed lease sale, which includes 8,480 acres in Jackson County, 23,192 acres in Moffat County, 25,582 acres in Rio Blanco County, and 1,440 acres in Routt County. The most effective comments will address issues and concerns specific to these parcels being considered. Comments need to be submitted by January 8th.
