Colorado Sex Offender Arrested In Wyoming

A convicted Colorado sex offender was arrested yesterday in Rock Springs. 44 year old Jason Scott Bender of Sharidan was arrested during a traffic stop following a surveillance operation conducted by the Sheriff’s Narcotics and Arrest Group. Detectives with the department determined that Bender had been living in Rock Springs for some time without registering as a convicted sex offender, as required by Wyoming state law. During their investigation detectives discovered Bender had a lengthy criminal history including felony convictions for sexual assault and failure to register as a sex offender.  Bender remains in custody in the Sweetwater County Detention Center awaiting a court date.
