Colorado Health Care Infection Rates

Health-Care-300Infection rates in Colorado health care facilities are lower in some areas and higher in others when compared to national averages according to a report released by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The numbers show that infections rates were lower than the national average for colon surgeries, hip replacements, and abdominal hysterectomies. While Colorado fell short in the infection rates for breast cancer surgeries. For the past three years, infection rates for breast cancer surgeries have been higher in Colorado than the national average.
