Both Colorado Senators Michael Bennet and Cory Gardner took part in a meeting with President Trump yesterday concerning immigration reform. The meeting focused on finding a citizenship solution for kids brought to the United States illegally by their parents, also known as dreamers, with the group also discussing the possibility of tackling comprehensive immigration reform. While Gardner and Bennet have their disagreements over immigration, both agreed the meeting was a positive step. Bennet said in a series of tweets that the meeting helped to narrow the scope of the negotiations over the Dream Act, and that he was happy there seemed to be consensus among the group that the need to pass a solution to the Dreamer situation is urgent. Gardner agreed, saying he believes the meeting will increase the speed of the negotiations. Gardner says he looks forward to working with his colleagues to pass a bipartisan solution to the Dreamer issue.
