Nine of Colorado’s higher-education institutions got a significant boost toward their efforts last week with the announcement of capital grant awards from the Boettcher Foundation. The nine institutions were awarded a total of $825,000 for capital projects. Colorado Northwestern Community College in Rangely was one of those institutions. The school will receive $75,000 toward the renovation and expansion of the 50-year old Rector Science Building. The project will add a state-of-the-art classroom, a laboratory, and lecture spaces. Since its inception, the Boettcher Foundation has awarded more than $320 million to Colorado nonprofits. In addition to capital grant funding for educational institutions, the Boettcher Foundation provides capital grants to nonprofits in the social services and community enrichment arenas.
