City Council Supports Permit For New Coal Pit

The Craig City Council signed a letter of support at their meeting last night concerning a proposed air quality permit for the ColoWyo Mine Collom pit. The Moffat County Commissioners are expected to sign a similar letter at their meeting next week. The permit is required for operations at the mine to continue. The Collom development will support more than 200 jobs in the area and is expected to contribute $200 million in regional impact. Public comments concerning the proposed air quality permit are being accepted now through January 28th. If you would like to comment, click here.
