Libraries throughout Northwest Colorado are participating this year in the Check-Out Colorado State Parks Programs. All of the county and regional libraries in the area, along with state run colleges like CNCC and Colorado Mountain College, have state park passes and an activity backpack available for check out. The park pass and backpack can be checked out for up to seven days and may be renewed according to the participating library’s renewal policy. CPW is continuing the program in an effort to promote first time visitation to the state’s parks, as many of the people who utilized the program last year visited a Colorado park for the first time. CPW Director Bob Broscheid hopes the program continues to be a way for local communities to access the beauty of the state’s parks.
