A man was arrested last week east of Rangely, after a lengthy vehicle pursuit. On Friday morning a Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s officer attempted to stop 22 year old David Morgan on highway 64 about halfway between Meeker and Rangely, after it was determined the pickup he was driving fit the description of one that had been stolen. Morgan refused to stop and fled west towards Rangely. During the pursuit Rangely police officers were able to disable the truck by deploying spike strips. Morgan was taken into custody without further incident. He was charged with 2nd degree aggravated motor vehicle theft, vehicular eluding, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving among other charges. A passenger, 18 year old Cheyleigh Karrie Hayes, was also arrested with for theft, first degree criminal trespass, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia.
