The Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees announced today that CEO finalist Jim Marshall has notified them that he was pursuing another job opportunity. Board Vice-Chairman, Forrest Luke, said that he was very disappointed to hear the news, but wishes Marshall well. Luke went on to say that it was no surprise to hear that Marshall was being pursued by other hospitals given his knowledge and demonstrated leadership skills. In February, the Board initiated a search for candidates to fill the CEO vacancy created when Chris Smolik resigned his position in January. Mike Mullins, a Regional Vice President of Quorum Health Resources, TMH’s management company, conducted a nation-wide search which resulted in four candidates who were interviewed by TMH. Marshall was named the finalist in May. The Board will meet in July to discuss the CEO recruitment process. The CEO position is currently held by interim CEO John Rossfeld.
