CDOT Begins Weekly Memorial To People Killed In Crashes

memorial signA new program instituted by the Colorado Department of Transportation, which began this week, will display a weekly tally of the year-to-date deaths on Colorado roadways. Every Wednesday through the end of 2016 the memorial messages will be paired with safety messages aimed at reducing crashes on digital message signs on highways across the state. According to preliminary data, fatalities in the state are up more than 11 percent, from 488 in 2014 to 545 in 2015. CDOT hopes the campaign will raise ongoing awareness of the tragic number of deaths on Colorado’s roads and encourage safer driving.
