Cast, Blast and Twang for Women Offered in Steamboat

colorado parksWomen interested in learning about fly fishing and the basics of shotguns and archery are invited to a women­ only “Cast, Blast & Twang” clinic in Steamboat August 9th.  Designed for beginners, no experience or equipment is required. Participants can bring their own shotgun but all ammunition will be provided. Space is limited and spots will fill quickly. Everyone who takes part should dress for the elements and bring all necessary supplies, including water, insect repellent, sunscreen, lunch and snacks. A prepared lunch is preferable as time to eat will be limited.  This is NOT a Hunter Education Course.  ‘Cast, Blast and Twang’ is offered through Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Hunter Outreach Program. The program includes workshops, clinics, seminars and educational hunts that focus on teaching the skills, ethics and traditions of hunting to novice youth and women.  The clinic starts at 8:30 in the morning and runs through mid-afternoon.  To register call Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Steamboat Springs office at 870-2197.
