You Can Now Collect And Use Rainwater

RainBarrelIt is now legal for Coloradans to collect and use rainwater on their property. Governor John Hickenlooper signed a bill into law late last week, that allows anyone to collect rainwater on their property. The legislation barely made it through the legislative session in what turned out to be a contentious fight over water rights. Supporters of the bill commissioned a study by CSU to look at the effects of rain collection on downstream water, which found the effects to be negligible.
