The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Connell Resources will resume work next week on US 40 in Steamboat starting with the Pine Grove intersection. The project includes 5 miles of highway from Elk River Road to Walton Creek Road. Work in the month of May will include various concrete curb & gutters, sidewalks, ADA curb ramp improvements and re-paving the intersection of US 40 and Pine Grove Road. Other work includes guardrail and fence installation at Walton Creek Road and the Mount Werner overpass. Pedestrians and bicyclists should use caution during construction; work will be near or around existing sidewalks and every effort will be made to keep sidewalks open. Delays are expected to be about 10-20 minutes from one end of the work zone to the other. Crews will work day and night, and even weekends to finish the project.
