The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is beginning a resurfacing project on State Highway 13, near the intersection of US 40. The first phase of the project will involve milling and paving the highway and should be wrapped up by the end of August. Additional work includes heave repairs and guardrail improvements and will run from August through October. Connell Resources, of Steamboat, is the contractor for the $7.4 million project. Beginning Monday, flaggers are alternating one lane of traffic through the work zone between 7 in the morning and 7:00 in the evening, Monday through Friday. The speed limit is reduced through the work zone so CDOT reminds motorists to Slow for the Cone Zone.
