Buffalo Pass Still Closed Due to Snow

routt-natl-forest-signRoutt National Forest officials are reminding recreationists that the Buffalo Pass Road remains closed by snow.  On the Steamboat side, the road is gated closed about three miles east of the Dry Lake Campground above the top of the switchbacks. Forest visitors coming from the Walden side should be aware that the road is closed at milepost 15 near the junction with Forest Road 625. Motorists are reminded to not drive off-road to get around snow drifts or gates. This causes damage to roads and natural resources, as well as puts travelers at risk of becoming stuck.  Visitors are encouraged to contact the Forest Service prior to traveling to the area to verify the open status and road conditions.  You can find more information about this and other closures, by clicking here.
