The Bureau of Land Management yesterday announced that it is seeking public nominations for open positions on the BLM Colorado Northwest Resource Advisory Council, which advise the BLM on public land issues. The BLM will consider nominations for 30 days. RACs are composed of citizens chosen for their expertise in natural resource issues, and help the Bureau carry out its stewardship of 245 million acres of public lands. Each RAC consists of 10 to 15 members with an interest or expertise in public land management, including conservationists, ranchers, outdoor recreationists, state and local government officials, Tribal officials, and academics. This is the third call for nominations. Those that have already made a nomination do not need to resubmit it. The Northwest RAC currently has five different positions open. Nominations must be submitted by June 18th. You can fill out a nomination form, or simply find more information by clicking here.
