BLM Needs Help Mapping Trails And Roads

The Bureau of Land Management is looking for public comments to help evaluate the bureaus inventory of roads and trails in Northwest Colorado. The BLM counted and mapped all the roads and trails in the area last summer. They are now looking to verify the accuracy of the mapping and whether or not any trails were missed during the inventory process. A copy of the trail inventory map is available online through the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website, or can be viewed in person at the Meeker BLM office, at the Rangely Town Hall and Chamber of Commerce, or in Dinosaur at the Town Hall. An open house will be held tomorrow night in Dinosaur to allow the public to review and comment on the mapping. The meeting will be held from 6 to 7:30 at the Artesia Fire Station. Comments can also be submitted via email to blm_co_wrfo_tmp@blm.gov or by mail to BLM, White River Field Office, 220 East Market St., Meeker, CO 81641. Comments are due July 31st.
