BLM May Limit Access To Land

BLM-entering-public-land-30A meeting to discuss a Travel Management Plan for BLM managed land in Moffat County will be held next week in Craig. The meeting will take place Thursday from 11:30 to 7 at the Center of Craig. According to Dario Archuleta, the outdoor recreation planner for the BLM’s Little Snake Field Office in Craig, the goal of the plan is to ensure access to public lands, while protecting resources and providing excellent customer service to visitors. The BLM has evaluated trails and routes North of Craig in Hiawatha, Vermillion Basin, Sand Wash and Little Bears Ears. This meeting will be the publics’ final opportunity to comment on alternatives route designations in these areas. To view maps that outline the proposed travel routes click here.
